I needed to come up with birthday gifts for two new co-workers but didn't have tons of funds or time to craft something.
I found on Pinterest gift ideas with candy jars and embellishments and this is my take on it. I did something similar not too long along for one of my sons friends at school. I recall the child really thought it was a neat gift.
I went to Wal-Mart and picked up these jars which were only $3. Our school colors are orange and blue. I couldn't believe how lucky I was to find Hershey Kisses which were wrapped in blue and Reeces Pieces which really made the theme pop!
I think they came out great!

St. Patrick's Day School Treats
I try to send school treats in celebration of every holiday with my sons. Growing up my mother would say around St. Patty's Day, "everyone's Irish today!".
I saw the Valentine's day ice cream cone cupcakes and thought it would be great for St. Patty's Day.
I used funfetti batter with whipped cream cheese frosting dyed both green and added sprinkles and lucky Charms cereal as embellishments.
My sons taste-tested them and they're kid approved!
When you bake the cupcakes in the cones the directions say to fill half full however I had to fill 3/4 full for a fuller cupcake. I used a glass rectangle pan and packed in about 15 cones. They bake for about 30 minutes or so on 350. I like to bake and let stand overnight then frost.
My youngest son was especially nervous and wanted to make sure he was "pinch free" so I printed these from a free printable on Pinterest. You can find them under my holidays board.

Homemade non toxic finger paints
My youngest son "the artist" recently ran out of paints. While perusing Pinterest I ran across a recipe for finger paints for which the ingredients were all edible items I had in my pantry.
I mixed ingredients together and they turned out pretty great. My son was amazed at my crafting skills and I was able to keep him entertained for a couple of hours. Score!
Check my Pinterest crafts ideas board for the recipe.

Projects
I must apologize as I've haven't blogged in a bit. However, don't fret this blog should catch you up on all of the many projects I've been working on.
You should note I have two nieces whom I spoil with girlie things because I have two boys in my house.
In preparation for Princess Lina's 2nd birthday I made her the Minnie Mouse tutu. I also made Princess Brookelynn a Princess and the Frog tutu for her 2nd birthday in May.
I can honestly say I'm obsessed with tutu's and hair barrettes. I made two for each. And even a tutu purse!
Making a tutu couldn't be an easier project. I use ribbons for the waist instead of elastic but may try the elastic the next tutu I make. I also found crochet bodices online for a dollar and was able to make tutu dresses. I've made floor length and short tutu's. I may have to open up a shop seeing as I love making them.
I get my tulle from Wal-Mart however the selection isn't always what I need it to be. I have found an online tulle shop and may try them. I need to add that shipping is a pain.
Let me know what y'all think...
